7 Bold Quotes

May 22nd, 2009 by Amy

This week I have seen a lot of boldness.

It seems that everyone I know is reaching out and making changes.

New jobs.

New relationships.

New decisions.

New experiences.

New lives.

It takes a good deal of courage to push your life forward in a new direction.

This is for all of you who are!

1.  Moral excellence comes about as a result of habit. We become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, brave by doing brave acts.   Aristotle

2.  First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do.   Epictetus

3.  Trust only movement. Life happens at the level of events, not of words. Trust movement.   Alfred Adler

4.  Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.   Helen Keller

5.  Long have you timidly waded holding a plank by the shore,
Now I will you to be a bold swimmer,
To jump off in the midst of the sea, rise again, nod to me, shout,
and laughingly dash with your hair.   Walt Whitman

6.  How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.
Annie Dillard

7.  Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?   Mary Oliver

Thanks for #5. Whitman says how I’m feeling this week. The final clean out of one business, Annarella, and the start up of another, Annarella Girl. Yes, I’m feeling bold. Thanks Walt and Amy for putting it into words.

PS I’d be honored to have a link on your site. You are already a link on mine.

  3. Danielle Cauley Says:

    Thank you.
