7 Quotes I Love

May 28th, 2009 by Jane

As you probably already know, we love quotes here at 7Of. The following  are a few of my new favorites. I hope one or two will brighten your day!

1. We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.  - Anais Nin

2. Science and art belong to the whole world, and before them vanish the barriers of nationality.                 -Goethe

3. In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can’t build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery and death. -Anne Frank

4. You’re not obligated to win. You’re obligated to keep trying to do the best you can every day.           -Marian Wright Edelman

5. It’s important to remember that feminism is no longer a group of organizations or leaders. It’s the expectations that parents have for their daughters, and their sons, too. It’s the way we talk about and treat one another. It’s who makes the money and who makes the compromises and who makes the dinner. It’s a state of mind. It’s the way we live now. -Anna Quindlen

6. At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. -Albert Schweitzer

7. I do yoga so that I can stay flexible enough to kick my own arse if necessary. -Betsy Canas Garmon
